A flatbed carries anything flat, long or palletised: bales, timber, building materials, road plates or a small machine. Choose on bed size and payload, and decide whether you need drop sides, a headboard or a tailgate. Secure the load on enough lashing points. TOWMATE Bison, the M-TEC flatbeds and the TA-NO MULTITRAILER come in many lengths up to 3500 kg.
Frequently asked questions
How far may the load overhang?
That is set per country and depends on length and marking. Keep the load on the bed where possible and ask your dealer about the rules in your country.
Drop sides or open flatbed?
An open flatbed loads easily from every side, including by forklift. Drop sides keep loose loads in place.
Which driving licence do I need?
A B licence lets you tow a trailer up to 750 kg, or heavier as long as car and trailer together stay within 3500 kg. Code 96 allows a combination up to 4250 kg. Beyond that, for a trailer up to 3500 kg, you need a BE licence. This applies in the Netherlands and Belgium.
