TOWMATE Rhino Beavertail
For a mini digger, compactor or access platform, payload matters most: use the operating weight including bucket, quick hitch or breaker, not the brochure figure. Also look at loading height and ramps: the lower and flatter, the safer a machine on rubber tracks drives up. TOWMATE Rhino and TA-NO BOB are plant trailers up to 3500 kg; on the Mini excavator trailers page you can work out which version fits.
Frequently asked questions
How heavy is my mini digger really?
Check the data plate and add buckets, quick hitch, breaker and fuel. A 1.8 tonne machine easily weighs 2 tonnes ready to work.
What is a beavertail?
A bed that slopes down at the rear, reducing the loading angle. Useful for machines with low ground clearance.
Which driving licence do I need?
A B licence lets you tow a trailer up to 750 kg, or heavier as long as car and trailer together stay within 3500 kg. Code 96 allows a combination up to 4250 kg. Beyond that, for a trailer up to 3500 kg, you need a BE licence. This applies in the Netherlands and Belgium.
